Penis Pumps

Recently I was writing about Fleshlight, the latest self satisfaction gadget to take the market by storm. But what of other male masturbation toys, Penis Pumps? What are they, how do they work and where can you get your hands on one?

One thing that the internet is good for is bringing you choice. If you type ‘Penis Pumps’ into a search engine you will get thousands of suggestions so it’s really a question of finding a decent shopping site and sticking with it. I have a Favourites folder dedicated to this and each time I find a good on-line store I bookmark it. I have a folder for sex things and one for ‘general’ so I don’t get confused and start searching a mainstream CD and book stores for cock rings, for example.

That was just my little tip; let’s get back to those three questions:

1) What are Penis Pumps?
My faithful encyclopaedia describes them thus: “A penis pump is a cylinder that is fitted over the penis, with a manual or motorized pump to create suction.” A sex toy or a medical aid for impotence? It’s up to you. Basically it’s a tube that goes over your cock and helps get you hard. Health warnings are attached as these things are not really intended to be ‘toys’ as such. If you keep pumping your cock will continue to increase until, literally, something bursts. So tread (or pump) carefully.

2) How do they work?
“As the apparatus creates a vacuum around the penis, blood is drawn into the penis, helping it to become engorged. As vacuum increases, the difference between the inner blood-pressure and the pump pressure increases as well…” Then it starts to get very medical but the basic principal is still that a penis pump gets you hard so that you can do more with your cock once you take the pump off.

There are other devices which do the same thing. Following the basic biology that your erection is caused by blood flowing into your cock and staying there all you need to do is find a way of keeping it there. I’m no scientist but I’m pretty sure that, during sex, this happens because of ‘arousal’ which is hormonal – i.e. your body naturally rises to the occasion when you are turned on. But many, many… I’ll say it a third time, many guys don’t stay hard for long. It’s a common thing and nothing to be upset about. Even when turned on right up to almost blowing your load, even during a great sex session you can find your ‘best friend’ starting to lose interest even if you haven’t. Why? Who knows, maybe the blood had somewhere else to be.

So the trick is to keep it there. Penis Pumps claim to do this. Cock rings do the same thing but you can keep them on and then there are certain pills available and herbal/natural ‘remedies’ too.

3) Where to buy one?
If you feel that you want to have a go with a penis pump and see the effects then shop around. I refined my search to gay on line stores (to support our community) and came up with some online shops I’d not visited or bookmarked before:
On their Pumps and Masturbators pages they featured many kinds of pumps and other cock toys. The site is well laid out and prices seem reasonable. There are good technical details and images too.
This site is heterosexual driven but I’m growing to like it for its good prices and variety of products. Check the Masturbation Devices pages for loads of gadgets and fun ideas!
Another new one on me but with a nice design and easy to use. This will be more beneficial if you are UK or Europe based and prices are in sterling.

Those are just three examples of where to find your penis pump. Whichever you decide to go with always read the medical advice and don’t over do it! Have fun.

Do Penis Pumps really make your dick bigger or thicker? We will have more on that after we run some tests.
